The opening reception for the exhibition of the prison paintings of Antonio
Guerrero, one of the Cuban 5, will be held on Friday, November 5, from 6 to
9 pm at Homewood Studios <http://www.homewoodstudios.com/> in Minneapolis.
George Roberts, owner of the studio will introduce writer and poet Louis
Alemayehu, and dancer and community organizer Hannah Garcia, who will read
selections of Antonio’s poetry in Spanish and English. Hand-set broadsides,
suitable for framing, of Antonio’s poems will be available for sale.
Complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres will be available.
The exhibition, entitled, From my Altitude, will continue through November
30. The schedule is set out below. The exhibit was most recently shown in
New York City and at the U.S. Social Forum in Detroit.
