(Reuters) – Adriana Perez, wife of Gerardo Hernandez, one of five Cuban prisoners in U.S. jails, speaks in front of a poster during a ceremony organised in support of them by the Union of Communist Youth (UJC) in Havana May 5, 2011. The so-called “Cuban Five” are celebrated by many in Cuba as national heroes who were gathering information on armed exile groups in Miami to prevent attacks on their country and are believed to be victims of Washington’s campaign against the island. FBI agents arrested the five in 1998. They were convicted in 2001 of 26 counts of spying on the Cuban exile community in Miami on behalf of Fidel Castro’s government. The five have been in jail in the U.S. for over 12 years. REUTERS/Desmond Boylan (CUBA – Tags: POLITICS)
