A booth about the Cuban Five was presented at the Common Ground Fair, in Unity, Maine. The booth build by the Maine Campaign to Free the Cuban Five at the 37th annual fair had gained FIRST PLACE among sixty or so other “social and political action” tables at this very popular event, attended by tens of thousands.
The award was for artistic and aesthetic qualities of the display. This is a repeat performance for Judy and Peter Robbins. Years ago they won first place for a booth on behalf of Mumia Abu Jamal.
The other winners of course are the Cuban Five political prisoners. The word is getting out. In Maine dozens of fair-goers signed onto a petition to Barack Obama to send them home.
